Sarah was born about 1820. She was the daughter of Philip Gower and Sarah Fockler. She married about the age of 21 to Israel Clubine of Whitchurch, York co, Canada West. She passed away about 1859 after having given birth to at least seven children.
Note: I've hesitated adding Sarah Gower to this family as the evidence is so very confusing, and none of it first hand. The birth & death dates I've used are from a Family Tree on Ancestry.com - the only place I've found a reasonable set of dates and about the only one there that did.
It appears that Sarah Gower married Israel Clubine & bore a number of children, before dying prior to 1860 when Israel married again. What makes it really confusing is that the second wife is also a Sarah and I think most researchers have assumed that it is Sarah Gower who appears on the 1861 census, hence they give her dates as <1835/37 - 1894> - even on "Findagrave" that is what is recorded.
Unfortunately, the 1851/2 census for whitchurch Twp. is missing when we could have seen Sarah (Gower) in her home. Looking at the 1861 census for the Israel Clubine family, it should be obvious that that "mother Sarah" is not old enough to actually be the mother of most of the children. She would only have been ten yrs. old when the oldest, Alfred was born.
