He married Nancy L. Gatlin on 14 August 1823 in Davidson County, Tennessee.[3]
He died on 11 July 1892.[4] and was buried in Gower Cemetery, located on Gower Road, Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, behind the Centenary Methodist Church.[5] 25210575
