This should be worked into his narrative and sources:
"Several years ago Edward Hatcher of Henrico Co., for love and affection gave to his grandchild Mary Gower, daughter of Richard and Martha Gower, 1 cow calf and 1 mare, which have since increased to 5 head cattle & 1 mare & filly. Gower has disposed of 2 of the cattle. Now for good will & affection Edward Hatcher and Richard Gower give to Mary Gower 2 red cows, 1 brown cow, 1 yearling mare filly and various household items in possession of Richard Gower, which said Richard will keep until Mary is 21 or married. 1 Jan. 1686. Wit: Hen. Randolph, Wm Hatcher Signed: Edward (EH) Hatcher, Richard (R) Gower Recorded 1 Feb. 1686" Henrico County, Virginia, Wills and Deeds, 1677-1705
