George was born in 1850. He was the son of Henry Grace and Martha Pocock and the brother of the celebrated cricketer W.G. Grace. He was a famous cricketer in his own right and played Test cricket against Australia in 1880. He passed away only a few weeks after that Test Match in 1880, having contrated Tuberculosis at the tragically early age of 30.[1]
