Mary Ann Grace was born on 21 November 1846 at Alverstoke, Hampshire, England and her siblings were Charles Grace, Henry Grace, William Herbert Grace, Ellen Jane Grace and John Grace
Mary (Grace) Bond came free to the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)
Mary Ann with her parents Sophia and William, her siblings Charles Henry, William Herbert and Ellen Jane, left Portsmouth, London, England aboard the "Tartar" in November 1850 and arrived at Port Jackson travelling in 'Steerage" on 8 February 1851 as unassisted immigrants, which means they were financially self sufficient and had their own means of support. [1] .
She married Charles Frederick Bond on 17 July 1866 at Ashfield, New South Wales, Australia [2][3] and over the following four year three children were born. Charles William Bond, Etheline Grace (Bond) Thomas and William Charles Bond. Sadly, baby Charles William died on 4 June 1869 aged 18 months then, when 5 years and 5 months old, William Charles passed away on 28 January 1877.
Mary died on 8 September 1871 at Strawberry Hills, New South Wales, Australia [4] and she was buried in the Rookwood General Cemetery, Rookwood, New South Wales, Australia [5].
