Biography

George Graf was born on 31 July 1882. A record shows that György Graf, the son of Mátyás Graf and Zsussi Trumer was baptized at Bánfalu, Moson, Hungary, on 31 júl. 1882 (31 Jul 1882).[1] On his World War 2 Draft registration, he said he was born in Abadlan, Hungary.[2] His Social Security Application shows that her was born in Apetlon, Hungary, the son of Mathias Graf and Susan Drummer.[3] (George had a second Social Security Application under the name George Graff, and it contained the same information.[4])

Katherine Moser and George Graf obtained a license to marry on 31 Dec 1906 in Stearns County, Minnesota.[5] Based on US Census and other records, they had at least the following children:

  • Anna Graf, b. ca. 1912
  • Julia M. Graf, b. ca. 1914

  • Alfred L. Graf, b. ca. 1923
  • Gregory J. Graf, b. ca. 1925

In 1910, Katy Graf, 25 b. Austria, was a married sister living in Fanning, Stearns, Minnesota, with brother Jackob Moser and his family. Katy's husband George was not present in the household. Katy has been married for 3 years, and she has had 2 children, both still living.[9]

When he registered for the World War 1 Draft in Burnett County, Wisconsin, George said he was 36 years old, born on 31 July 1882. He lived and farmed in Grantsburg. His nearest relative was Mrs. George Graf of the same home address.[10]

In 1930, George Graf lived in Augusta, Lac Qui Parle, Minnesota, with his wife, Katherine Graf, and 7 children. George worked as a laborer on a R.R. section. Hecame to the USA in 1905, and his wife Katherine came in 1890. [11]

George Graf, a railroad laborer, lived in Mehurin Township, Lac Qui Parle, Minnesota, with his wife Katherine, 5 children and a grandson. [12]

His World War 2 Draft Registration, on 27 April 1942 Mehurin, Lac Gui Parle, Minnesota, shows that George was born in Abadlan, Hungary, on 31 July 1882. He worked for the M & St L R R.[2]
