Pittsburgh, Pa ., August 7.—The fast train on the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and St. Louis Railroad met with a terrible accident near Mingo Junction, O. The train was 20 minutes behind schedule and was going at 40 miles per hour, when it collided with a freight train. The Cincinnati postal car was thrown over an embankment thirty feet and completely demolished. The postal clerks, Frank D. Graham, A. W. Andrews and W. R. Johnston, were killed. Mr. George L. Mooreau had a leg broken. The St. Louis car was thrown over an embankment on its end and very badly wrecked. The postal clerks, G. W. Weast, W. H. Hoston , and G. C. Matthews were injured , but it is supposed not fatally. The baggage and emigrant cars were thrown from the track and badly wrecked, while the last coach and sleepers remained on the track, and the occupants escaped almost unhurt. However, a total of five people were killed and many wounded on other railroad cars. —Aug. 8, 1878 Bloomington Daily Leader (EDITED)
