The following information was obtained from William (James) Rabon, a great-grandson of

Joseph Isaiah Graham, son of Joseph Graham (1790-1860): Joseph Isaiah Graham and Willis Rabon were at the feeding ground during free range time and had a fight over hogs. Willis died. When Willis died, Joseph Isaiah went to the Horry County Sheriff, W. I. Graham (served in the 1850's), his cousin, for advice. He advised him to leave South Carolina because when the news of the killing became public, he would be hung. So he fled to Florida. Sheriff Graham had a brother, John Conner Graham, who lived in Conner, Florida and Joseph Isaiah's family always assumed that was where he went, leaving his family behind. His daughter, Catherine, received letters from him through the years until his death. The only remembrances she had of her father were those letters and a lock of his hair which she kept in a trunk until her death. She never would tell what part of Florida he was living. Catherine Graham b. 1839 d. Jun-19-1933 Married to Abraham B. Rabon
