Jeremiah , born 1801, died 1891 married Jane Burr, born Aug. 21 1806, died 1886. Jane was the daughter of Rueben and Elizabeth Cleaver Burr - Quakers who were original settlers of Newmarket and original members of Yonge St. Quakers. Her family immigrated to Upper Canada in 1805 settling first in Whitchurch, later near Richmond Hill, and finally on Lot 18 Conc. 2 of East Gwillimbury, 2 lots from her future husband Jeremiah Graham who had settled on Lot 15. She was disowned by the Quakers at the Yonge St. Meeting Sept. 13, 1827 for marrying a non-Quaker. Jeremiah was only a member of the Children of Peace for a short time, in the latter part of his life and was a minister of the Christian Church. Like his brothers, Jeremiah was a part of the Rebellion in 1837 and fled to the United States with Richard with a price on his head after being indicted for high treason. In a letter written May 6, 1838 to John by Elizabeth (Williams wife) she says Jeremiah is work for Joseph Sutherland in the United States a relative of Alexander Suthrland of Lot 25, Concession 3 of East Gwillimbury. It is also been recorded that Jeremiah other young men joined Mackenzie in making further raids from the Navy Island, in the Niagara River. One of Jeremiah companions was Alexander McLeod who was captured and deported to a penal colony in Australia where he died shortly thereafter. He returned after amnesty. Jane was a teacher before she married and both are buried in the Queensville cemetery in East Gwillimbury.
