---Mr. Alva Granger died at the residence of his son, Lewis A. Granger, on the 22d inst. Mr. Granger was one of our oldest residents. The writer can remember him thirty-five years ago, when he was engaged as a moulder in the old blast furnace. He was a very honest, conscientious, hard-working man, and though not successful in laying up much of worldly goods, he raised a large family, many of whom now mourn his loss, and leaves behind him the record of a life filled with good deeds."[1]
