Biography

Ludovick (Grant) Grant VIIIth of Freuchie is a member of Clan Grant.

Ludovic Grant, 8th of Freuchie and 1st of Grant^[1] was born in 1641.^[2] He was the son of James Grant, 7th of Freuchie and Lady Mary Stuart.

Ludovic had:

1. John Grant, who died without issue, whose maternity is not identified. ^[2]

He married, firstly, Janet Brodie, daughter of Alexander Brodie, 2nd of Lethen and Elizabeth Craig, on 16 or 20 December 1671.^[2]

On the 1st of March 1701, married secondly, by contract Jean Houstoun (died 31 Jan 1734), daughter of Sir Patrick Houstoun of Houstoun, Bt, and widow of (a) Walter, 3rd son of Walter Dundas of Dundas, and (b) Richard Lockhart of Lee (qv).

He died and was buried on the 19th of November 1714.^[5]

Ludovick's son William Grant was baptised on 25 July 1699 in Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.^[9]
