Was wondering if you middle name is Ian? My brother's name is Geoffrey Ian Grant, and amazingly coincidental.

We are really happy that you took the Pre-1700 certification Quiz. Thank you for doing your part to make WikiTree an accurate and openly collaborative place for genealogists to share their research.

Do you have some 1700's people in your tree already ? Now that you have the badge, you can take part in one of our projects.

Have a great day !

Geoff,

Looks like your information has set off a flurry of activity. I hope you don't mind! I am glad that it has sparked some new ideas, and you have to let me know about the one name study. I've been wanting to do this for the Lockhart name, and sort have been working towards this, so please keep me posted on the process. Thanks again for the lead on Chapman. Nae

Thanks for the lead on Chapman. It of course is unsourced, but it may give me a place to look (which I did a little, but that is not a project for me today). I was like WOW when I first went to the page. Thinking I've been digging for years, and here you go and send me this. That's what is great about WikiTree. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but you meet some great people! Thank you!

Grant Clan and the Scottish Clan Project. I just did a quick search on the project page and there is currently no one "managing" that clan, so I'll send a note to the other project leaders in regards to this. Is it okay if I list you on the project page as a resource for Grant Clan?

On another note..ah ha! a source for Grants! IF you ever come across information on a CHAPMAN (J or G) Grant-4115 1760-1857 VA. OR Matilda Grant-4011 (married a Cheuvront) about 1780-1803 Virginia (buried Good Hope Masonic Cemetery Goodhope Harrison County West Virginia). The Melinda is more important to me (my direct line) but Chapman's daughter Belinda also married a Cheuvront (Brothers). LOL

Thanks, and let me know about posting on the clan page. Nae

Well, we are practically family! LOL Keep me posted on the DNA. I HAVE GOT TO DO THIS! And I know little to nothing about it. This weekend I am going Parkersburg and hope to learn some more at a rather large family gathering (hope to garner some leads on some brick walls too). Thanks for your consideration, good luck with the DNA and also, if you need help with Scotland stuff, let me know. I am pretty good, but Billy Wallace is better (since he lives there I think that's an advantage). See the Scottish Clan Project for a link to his profile.  :)

Thanks again, Nae
