Hannah Grant is the second of two children born to David Grant & Wanda Jones. The Grant family moved from her birthplace in Kansas up to Michigan as David followed his career as a civil employee for the United States Army. Hannah was named so after her 3rd great grandmother Hannah Dempsey (nee Butler) from her father's maternal side. The middle name Maureen was given in lieu of the famous Maureen O'Hara, a popular actress of the parents decade. The family all still resides locally in Michigan, a halfway point between the parents origins of Midwestern United States and Canada.
Ms. Grant holds four undergraduate diplomas in the social sciences including cultural anthropology and behavioral science. In 2015, she completed a Masters degree in Educational Technologies. Today she volunteers as a web services librarian for a digital archive project.
A large majority of her genealogy work pertains to native ancestry in the woodland and maritime regions of Canada and neighboring US states.

I was contacted because I am the leader of Southern Colonies and they hoped I would know what to change. I am so glad they didn't just remove or change a date. At least the line is corect now.
Thanks for your note!

Thank you for your decision to contribute. WikiTreers have all sorts of skills, but one common interest - genealogy. I would recommend first looking around and become familiar with the various functions.
The main menu, located at the top right of the page, offers access to the most important features amongst them your Wiki-ID. In the help section »G2G« at the bottom, you’ll find the WikiTree online help. You can ask all sorts of questions, technical and others, and because WikiTree is worldwide, there is almost always someone online, who can give a qualified answer. Good luck! - And don't forget to sign the Honor Code. Pleasure to have you onboard

Welcome to WikiTree, and thank you for your interest.
If you just want to look things up, or upload a GEDCOM for match, you do not need to take further actions.
If you want to contribute to WikiTree (add profiles, collaborate etc.), you must sign up as a volunteer. Doing so I will ask you to tell a little about your plans on your profile page. Do not volunteer unless you plan to contribute please!
After volunteering you can sign the HONOR CODE. You'll then become a full member and can help grow WikiTree through participation in the community. WikiTree also have MENTORS in case you need guidance.
