Biography

Alexander Grant, born 12 Dec 1735, was the eighth child of Theophile Bartlett & Samuel Grant of East Windsor, Connecticut.

He married at least twice:

1) in 1768 Thankful Lyman [daughter of Gad Lyman of Northampton, Massachusetts; d. 9 Sep 1770 in 28th year; buried at Windsor, Connecticut]
2) 2 Nov 1771 @ Windsor, Connecticut, widow Miriam (Sexton) Bliss of Springfield, Massachusetts [b. 19 Mar 1738, daughter of Judge Sexton of Enfield; married 1st 6 Dec 1757 David Bliss (b. 19 Dec 1722, son of William Bliss & Margaret Lombard; d. 12 Dec 1760]. They had 3 children,, all born at Westfield, Massachusetts:
  1. Erastus Grant, b. 28 Jul 1774; married 4 May 1801 @ Westfield, Massachusetts, Eunice Sackett; d. 26 Nov 1865 @ Westfield
  2. Thankful Grant, b. 12 May 1776; married 4 Feb 1798 Elihu Emerson; d. 12 Apr 1834 @ Norwich, Vermont
  3. Cynthia Grant, b. 19 Mar 1781; married 11 Nov 1798 Joseph Emerson; d. 3 Feb 1861 @ Norwich, Vermont

Alexander Grant died 26 Apr 1801 at Westfield, Massachusetts.

1) on 20 December 1751in Goochland, Virginia Agnes Jarrett ( b. abt. 1737 - d. aft. 1805) [daughter of Thomas Jarrett and Mary Gerrard].
