Biography

Daughter of Cornelius A. Grant and Elizabeth Beththire Norman Grant. Sister of Martha Jane Grant Etier, Andrew Jackson Grant, John Cephus Grant, Mary Alice Grant Davis, and James Lee Grant. Wife of Robert Sidney "Sid" Davis, married Nov 11, 1894 Weatherford, Parker Co., Texas. Mother of 2 sons, one who died at birth and Robert Lee Davis. Obit, Weatherford, Texas August 1942: Mrs. R. S.(Sid) Davis, 72 years old, passed away at the family home near Dennis, Monday Afternoon at 6:15 o'clock. She had been ill for two weeks. Mrs. Davis was a native of Parker County born and reared in the southwest part of the county where she had lived all her life. Survivors are her husband, Sid Davis and one son, Robert Lee Davis, both of the Dennis community. the funeral services were conducted by Rev. B. J. Forbes at the Brock Church of Christ Wednesday morning at 11:00 o'clock. Burial took place in the Brock cemetery. Pallbearers were: Albert S. Davis, Edd Huffman, Charl Graves, J. S. Etier, Tom Hackett and J. T. Hackett, Jr.
