Biography

Campbell Graves is a part of US Black heritage.

Campbell was born in 1895 in Warfield, Brunswick County, Virginia. He was the son of Joseph Graves and Mary Ella Short. From his obituary, he was a retired self-employed carpenter for 60 years. He was the widower of Malcolm D. (Ferrebee) Graves. He was an Army veteran of World War I and was an Episcopalian. He passed away in 1992 in Chespeake, Virginia.

Graves, 96, of the 1900 block of Land of Promise Road, a retired self-employed carpenter for 60 years, died June 19, 1992, in a hospital. Mr. Graves was born in Warfield. He was the widower of Malcolm D. Graves. He was an Army veteran of World War I and was an Episcopalian. Survivors include 20 nieces; and 10 nephews. The funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Fitchett Funeral Home by the Rev. Cary Johnson Jr. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. Friends may join the family at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the residence for the funeral procession.
