Biography

Mary was born in 1715. She passed away in 1746.

Mary Elizabeth Graves Bright was the child of Thomas Graves and Sara Turner born about 1715.

She married Simon Bright, Junior (1707-1776) after 9 June 1767. This is the date of her father's death, when she is known to be a minor and single.

In Simon's will of 23 November 1775, he names the following children, only some of whom are likely Mary's:

Simon Bright III (about 1751–1799 (his first born son)
Mary
Graves
James
Nancy C
Sarah "Sally"
Elizabeth

Simon is known to have died in late December 1776. His will was proven in January. Mary is known to have not remarried. She was definitely alive in 1813, and is in the 1830 census. She died June 1832.

She is memorialized in Saint Johns Cemetery, Grifton Pitt County, North Carolina.

There are any number of inconsistencies in the Biography, including dates. Mary could not be the mother for at least some of the named / listed children. Based on her memorial she would have been dead already. Reconciliation required.
