Biography

Betsey Graves was born in Reading, Massachusetts, on November 18, 1789, the daughter of Captain Daniel Graves and Mary Buxton.^[1][2][3]

On July 1, 1819, she married, in Reading, Joseph Johnson, of Lynn, Massachusetts, as his second wife. They had six children:^[1][2][4]

1. Daniel Alfred Johnson, born April 26, 1820.^[1][5]
2. Edward Kirke Johnson, born November 7, 1822.^[1][6]
3. Frederick Henry Johnson, born April 4, 1825.^[1][7]
4. Franklin Everett Johnson, born November 4, 1827.^[1][8]
5. Mary Graves Johnson, born July 15, 1830; died March 26, 1831.^[1][9][10]
6. Edmund Buxton Johnson, born July 13, 1832.^[1][11]

According to her "Find A Grave" memorial, Betsey (Graves) Johnson died at Nahant, Massachusetts, on March 26, 1872, at the age of 82.
