Captain, 13th co., 1st Hampshire Co. regt. of Mass. militia; list of officers chosen by the several companies in said regiment, as returned by Charles Pyncheon, dated Springfield, May 21, 1776; ordered in Council June 13, 1776, that said officers be commissioned ; reported commissioned June 13, 1776 ; also, Captain, Col. David Leonard's regt.; entered service May 8, 1777; discharged July 8, 1777; service, 2 mos. 10 days, travel included, at the Northward; also, Major, Col. Gideon Burt's (1st Hampshire Co.) regt.; entered service June 16, 1782; service, 4 days; entered service Sept. 28, 1784; service, 2 days; regiment marched on tours of duty, at Northampton, June 16, 1782, in support of the government, and at Springfield, Sept. -28, 1784, by order of the High Sheriff of said county ; roll dated Longmeadow.


He passed away in 1834 he was about the age of 85 years old and is buried at Evergreen Cemetery located in South Hadley, Hampshire, Massachusetts [2]

NOTE: Burials in Old South Hadley Cemetery were moved to Evergreen Cemetery in 1902.
