Robert was born before 1717. He is the son of Robert Graves and Elizabeth Gray.
Robert married Mary Palmer in St Peter and St Paul, Kirton in Holland, Lincolnshire on either 3rd[1] or 5th May, 1748.[2][3]
In the name of God Amen, I Robert Graves of Walcott in the Parish o f B i llinghay in the County and Diocese of Lincoln being of sound min d an d M emory do make this my last will and testament in manner and fo rm fo ll owing. First I recommend my soul to God hoping for a graciou s accept a nce and redemption of Jesus Christ my only saviour a redeeme r and m y b ody to be buried at the discretion of my excutrix herinafte r named . A s for my worldly goods wherewith the Lord has blessed m e I dispos e of them as follows. First I will that immediately after m y decease th e s um of £200 be raised out of my effects and paid into t he hands of S am uel Bailey of Coningsby and by him to be put out at in terest for th e b enefit of my brother Johns widow and child and in cas e of the child s d eath to be paid at the intent and meaning of my brot her Johns Will : o n payment of which £200 Samuel Bailey was bound wit h me to Ann Grav es m y brothers widow so I will take that the said su m of £200 to be pa id i nto his hand for his security.
I give to my son John the sum of fifty pounds when he comes of ag e o r m arries. I give to my son Robert the sum of forty pounds when h e com es o f age or marries. I give to my daughter Mary the sum of fort y poun ds w hen he comes of age or marries.
Also I Will, in case by brother John's wife die, that the third par t o f t he aforesaid two hundred pounds be equally divided amongst my c hild re n and if any of the children die before they become of age or m arrie s t hen I will their portion shall be shared equally among the s urvivo rs. A ll the rest of my estate I give to my dear wife she educat ing an d bri nging up my children with meat, drink, clothing, washing , lodgin g and a ll things necessary and I appoint my said wife sole ex ecutrix o f this m y last will. In witness wherde I have here set my ha d and sea l this t wentsecond day of April in the year of our Lord on e thousand s even hu ndred and fifty six.
