Aaron's birthplace in Connecticut, is unknown, but is speculated to be near Danbury. Records from that area and time were burned during the "Tryon Tory Raid of 1777".
His father "was an officer in the revolution and was killed in the service." He fought in the battle of Hubbardton. His mother was born in Hubbardton, Vt. His parents names are unknown.
Aaron, along with 3 of his brothers, Issac, Elijah and Daniel left Connecticut and settled in the area of Vermont which now encompasses Wells, Tinmouth, Poultney and Ira. Elijah (WikiTree Gray-14792)
His wife Hannah, along with Aaron, are mentioned in a Will of Issac Curtiz in Massachusetts Land Records - Deeds.
Around 1819, Aaron and his family moved to Ohio. His wife dies soon after. After 2 years in Ohio, he returns to Dorset, Vermont, along with his son Albert W, a broken and poor man. His twin sons, Orlin and Orange, die young (years unknown).
The Pleasant View Cemetary in Middletown Springs has a grave marker for Aaron. One of the earliest stones in the cemetery was for Aaron. But he most likely was not buried there since the cemetery was erected after his death sometime between 1855 and 1860.
Conflicting marriage records. Vermont Vital Records has Feb, 28, 1779 and the Gray Genealogy lists July 20, 1799.
