Martin Gray, nonagenarian, passed away at the Soldiers Home hospital at 5 A.M., Sunday after a serious illness of over two weeks. He had been in poor health for some time past, suffering from asthma and complications. Mr. Gray and his wife had the distinction of being the oldest married couple at the Burkett institution, he being aged 91 years and his faithful companion having attained the age of 89 years. He was admitted to membership at Burkett from North Platte, Nebr., in August, 1919. Besides his bereaved widow he is survived by three daughters, two of whom reside in California. The third, Mrs. L. H. Sutter, of Hastings, Nebr., was with him when the end came. A grandson, E. J. Casler, resides in Grand Island. Funeral services were held from the Home chapel at 2:30 P.M. Monday, Rev. J. Henry Stitt, of the First Methodist church, officiating. Burial took place in the Phillips cemetery.
