Mrs. Fowler was a daughter of James and Mary (Lang) Gray, who were old residents of Lanarkshire, Scotland, and in later life removed to Stirlingshire, where he followed his occupation of coal mining, and died there. They had at least four children, and possibly more : James, Archibald, Mary, Isabella, mentioned above.
