Biography

John was born in 1804. He passed away in 1868.

Slaves

John owned 12 slaves in 1850[1] and 8 slaves in 1860[2]. Unfortunately, a comparison between the two slave schedule census records doesn't show a relationship between any of the individuals based on their gender and age.

As a member of the US Black Heritage Project, I have added a list of the slaves owned by John Gray on this profile with categories using the standards of the US Black Heritage Exchange Program. This helps us connect enslaved ancestors to their descendants. See the Heritage Exchange Portal for more information.
