Marriage

Samuel may have had a first marriage to Jennett Arnold. Samuel was boarding in Jennett's father Solomon's house on the 1900 census. A marriage record exists for S. T. Gray and Jennett Arnold, August 1900.[1] A birth index for Samuel's daughter Bessie Etteen Gray lists her mother as Janette Arnold[2], and Bessie is living in Solomon Arnold's household in 1920 and is listed as Solomon's granddaughter.[3]
