Mary Greasley was born about 1730, most probably in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, where she married George Hooley from Trowell, in 1749. She bore him some ten children but died and was buried at Stapleford in April 1768. Her widowed husband, George, remarried two years later, this time to the widow of a Moses Greasley, We do not know if Moses Greasley and Mary were related.
