I have tried to communicate with the person who attached Jane Greaves as a spouse of William Middleton, Sr. several times with no response. I have accepted management of Jane Greaves’ page. There are no ancestors nor descendants involved.

Jane Greaves is said to have resided in Massachusetts; William Middleton, Sr. lived in Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. There is no record I can find that they ever met, consequently: no marriage.

On the other hand, there are many records to the fact that William at the age of 24 married Elizabeth Pugh, daughter of William Landman. The Landman’s had land in Westmoreland Co. VA adjacent to the Middleton estate.

William Middleton, Sr. recorded in the Bible that he purchased shortly after his marriage to Elizabeth their marriage and the births, marriages, and deaths of their family.

As manager of Jane Greaves, I wish to correct the information and remove her from his profile as his wife.

I have searched and can find no evidence that William Middleton, Sr. married Jane Greaves. What does 'first hand' knowledge mean?

Jane is said to be born in Massachusetts. William grew up in Westmoreland County, Virginia. How did they meet? The Middleton Bible meticulously records marriages, births, and deaths, but that marriage is not in it.
