Biography

Jaelie Green was born 12 NOV 1753 in Stafford County, Virginia. She married abt 1772 in Halifax District, North Carolina to a Mercer; their child was Nancy Mercer[1]

Daughter of William Green and Ann Robinson, wife of Jacob Mercer their children: Love Mercer, Nancy Mercer, Rebecca Mercer, Levi Mercer, Rosamond Mercer, Annis Mercer, Ruth Mercer and Joseph G. Mercer. [2]

Members of the Mercer and Green families moved to Wilkes Co., GA by 1773.

In the early 1800s Jacob and his wife moved to Clarke Co., then to Shady Dale (in what later became Jasper Co.), Fayette Co., and Coweta Co. The Mercers were active in several Baptist churches.
