The list of children is incomplete, and some of the spellings are uncertain ("Millston","Haleston", "Milton"? "Emanuel", "Amanuel"? "Manuel" seems unlikely given the time and place).

By 1880 Edward is married again and his children are all working on farms located in Pleasant Valley. John Cleasby, George Galushia, Iria Joes [Ira Ives] and the Charles Pettis farms all have at least one of Edward's children working for them. They all live on the farms [source: Carol Hibbard Grainger].

Email from Cece Ives - cecilia.ives AT nwhsea.org - dated 11 Mar 2003: You have Edward R Green's children working on farms in Pleasant Valley and I think Iria Joes should be Amos' older brother Ira Ives who lived in Pleasant Valley. Also just found out that Amos Ives' younger brother Edward Ives married Ida Green in Eau Claire County. Amos Ives' father William Ives came from Canada to Illinois (abt. 1847) then to Buffalo County, Wisconsin (1857).

Article from the "Weekly Leader" of Eau Claire, Wisconsin dated 13 Jul 1895: Wants His Wife Back. Mr. Green Thought the City Was Helping and Wanted it Stopped. Edward D. Green Tells Quite a Story to City Officials About His Wife's Ways. Thinking that the city was aiding Sarah S. Green, who was living in a rented house owned by Mr. Riley on the plank hill, her husband, Edward D. Green, who is quite an old resident and who has managed the Wm. Carson farm a few miles from town, but who is now living comfortably on the West side, came to the city building Monday and told quite a story. It is that his wife, a couple of years ago, left him when they lived on the farm and, owing to the efforts of her relatives, kept away from Mr. Green and not only this, but has kept the children away also and kept the oldest boy, about 13 years, working hard for a brother-in-law, a Mr. Pettis, so as to get his earnings. Further Mr. Green says he wants his wife at home and he has plenty of silver and gold. In fact he has enough to keep a housekeeper who is a daughter by a former marriage. He says there is no need in the city supporting his wife, and if it does so it is merely keeping husband and wife apart. Further he claims his wife has money out on interest. One day while he was at work on the farm she left, going to her folks. The next day drove back and declared she was going to leave him. He was surprised and told her she would do nothing of the kind. She said she would. She wanted to live in town, and away she went. Mr. Green tells all the details, and when speaking of his children his voice faltered, and tears filled his eyes. Poor Commissioner Rilette states Mrs. Green is not a city charge nor does she receive such aid. She applied for aid but it was determined she belonged to the town of Washington, and aid was refused her. She said her husband was cruel to her and she would not live with him. In fact there was trouble all around. Commissioner Rilette sometime ago drove out and saw the chairman of the town of Washington on this very same matter.
