Biography

Jack was born on 28 November 1918 in Rush Springs, Grady, Oklahoma, USA. He is the son of Charles Harris Green (1875-1961) and Effie Jane Wilhite (1889-1970).

On 1 March 1943 he joined the United States Army and served as a Tec 5 in World War II. His release date was 20 November 1945.

He passed away in 2001.

Graveside service for Jack Green, 82, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2001, at the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha.

Jack Green was born November 28, 1918, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, the son of Charles and Effie Jane (Wilhite) Green, and died Friday, September 21, 2001, in Chickasha.

He and Flora Frasure were married in 1970 [*Cemetery marker indicates 1972] in Chickasha.

Mr. Green worked for Mobil Oil and later retired from Ft. Sill.

He served during World War II in the U. S. Army in Company A, 740th Tank Battalion as Tech 5th Grade. He served at the Battle of the Bulge and received the EAME Theater Ribbon, three Bronze Service Stars, American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Ribbon and Shot Experts as Tank Gunner.

Mr. Green enjoyed playing croquet and dominoes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Norman Green and his first wife, Viola Mae Green (1920-1966).

Survivors include: 1 son: Jackie Sedric Green and wife, Mary Jacqeline, of Lawton, Oklahoma; 1 daughter: Darlene McCullock and husband, Larry, of Norman, Oklahoma; wife: Flora Green of the home; 1 sister: Vivian Talla of Duncan, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Jordan Green and Jacquetta Green Campbell, both of Lawton, Oklahoma; stepson: Johnny Lee Frasure of Norman, Oklahoma.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
