Biography

Henry Green was born abt 1835 in Putnam Co., Ohio son of Philip and Sarah Green. [1]

He fought for the Union in the Civil War. [2] [3]

He married Matilda Apger in 1865 in Hancock Ohio. [4]

In 1880 he and his family were living in Prairie, Randolph, Missouri (Henry Green 45, farmer; spouse Matilda Green 36; sons: Sherman Green 14, Sheridan Green 12, Charley Green 10, and Grant Green 8; daughters: Hattie Green 6, and Alice Green 2.) [5]

He died in 1905 in Hitchcock County. Nebraska [6]

  • When this Henry Green came to my attention he had a middle name Frank. Did not find a source for that middle name.
  • More than one Henry Green was born in Ohio and fought for the Union in the Civil War.
