Biography

  • Green family Bible "William Bruce Green Born Nov 23th 1857 at Prospect, Australia." Listed as first of Edwin and Mary Ann Green's 11 children.
  • Can not find birth registration for William, as William Green, William Bramley or William Bruce. He is mentioned as one of his children on Edwin's death certificate and Edwin gave his permission for his marriage to Sarah, both being under age in Dec 1877. William B and Sarah were cousins, as their mothers were sisters. Edwin Green married Mary Ann Bramley on 13 Dec 1859 at Kelso so William appears to have been born before this.
  • Marriage of William B Green and Sarah H Horspool in 1878 at Orange, NSW

with family source suggesting 25 Dec 1878 at Weslyan Parsonage

  • 1889 Orange electoral roll lists William Bruce Green, household at East Orange
  • Kids birth records show William and his family had moved to Sydney by 1890 and Sutherland by 1893. Their first 5 children were born in the Orange district between 1878 to 1887, then Rose Amelia in Prospect in 1890 and the next 5 were born in Sutherland. This is also where his and his wife's uncle William Bramley was a storekeeper. William's mum died there in 1891.
  • NSW Electoral Roll 1913 William Bruce Green, Fencer at Boulevarde, Sutherland with Sarah harriett, domestic duties
  • Electoral Roll 1930 & 1933. William Bruce Green, Labourer of Boulevarde, but no Sarah, instead George Hector, carter and Florence Emily, home duties
