Biography

Elizabeth was the daughter of William Green (1695-1779) and Dinah Butt Green (1707-1802). She is listed in her father's will, but is not in her mother's will, indicating that she was probably not alive at the time the latter was written.
Nothing else is known about Elizabeth.[1]

William and Dinah had the following children:

  1. Regnal (Reginald) Green, Sr. was born about 1724, prob. Maryland. Died about 1834, Fairfield, OH. 1m: Unknown about 1762 VA, 2m: Sarah Butt 15Jan1788 VA, 3m: Mary Maxwell 28May1806 Fairfield, OH.
  2. Joseph Green was born in probably Queen Anne County, Maryland circa 1726. His widow may be the Mary Green found on Berkeley county tax lists. Joseph died before 1776.
  3. Sarah Green was born about 1730. Sarah died about 1799. She married Richard Butt in prob Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, before 1765. Richard was born about 1730. Richard was the son of Richard Butt. Richard died May 1799 at 80 years of age.
  4. Mary Green was born circa 1732, probably Maryland. Mary died before 1800 in Berkeley County, Virginia.

Note:
Daughters Mary, Keziah, Elizabeth were added as children on his profile even though it is assumed that they died without issue bet 1776 and 1800 (dates of writing of Last Will & Testaments of William and wife Dinah.) He listed them between Sarah and Dinah in his LWT; wife Dinah did not mention them probably because they were not alive then. (note originally added by Adams-16917 and edited by Lake-1774)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:

Please do not make edits on several dozen duplicate profiles in the Green and Williamson families, which have been proposed for merge. Additional information will make post-merge clean-up more difficult and time-consuming. Merges should begin after September 10, so please be patient.

There were a large number of merges proposed in the last few days. The higher number profiles have very little information to go on, and in many cases only relationships, in order to determine if a merge is between duplicates. I suggest that we proceed slowly and only merge one or a few at a time in order to better see the best way to proceed on subsequent merges.
