Hollow Rock Primitive Baptist Church, according to the first church minutes, was organized the Second Lord's Day, July 1823. Elder Jacob Brown, Samuel McGovern, Cornelius Cane, met at the request of the Green Settlement at the house of Captain Green. The sermon was delivered by Mr. McGovern. Twelve letters were received and after examination were found to be orthodox, after which they were pronounced an independent church. Among the members listed in the book are William Palmer, John Martin, Aaron Green, Thomas Rowland (Church Clerk), David Green, Bradford Green (Deacon), Lloyd Rowland, Joshua Park, Elizabeth Rowland, Larry Stuart, Mary Rowland, Olvie Rowland, Elizabeth Harris.
