Perry Roberts Green served from 1914 to 1917 in the Texas National Guard. From the start of World War 1 he was commissioned as Ensign in the United States Navy. He was assigned to the USS North Dakota (BB-29), a Dreadnaught battleship. He resigned his commission June 11, 1919. He married Nan Halbert.
