Gilbert Greene, son of James Green and Sarah Moss, was probably born about 1820 in North Carolina.
He married Carrie Ledford on 6 February 1840 in Rutherford County, North Carolina.[1]
He was a farmer when he and Carrie appeared on the census of 9 August 1850 at Cleveland County, North Carolina.[2] He was a farmer when he appeared on the census of 23 August 1860 at Cleveland County, North Carolina.[3]
Gilbert died before 1867 the date of his probate at Cleveland County, North Carolina.[4] It is possible that Gilbert died in Virginia in the U. S. Civil War.[5]
