Charles Monson "Monse" Green was born at Cornwallis, Nova Scotia in 1848.[1] He was the son of Charles Vincent Green and Margaret Ann Pineo.

Monse Green, a mariner, farmer and cook, married Hester Ann Bentley, daughter of Thomas Bentley and Harriet York, at Diligent River, Nova Scotia 3 Nov 1875.[2] Hester was born 31 Dec 1856 at Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia to Thomas Bentley and Harriet York.[3]
Hester died 8 Mar 1920, age 64, of tuberculosis, at Fox River, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia. She was buried at Wards Brook Baptist Cemetery, Wards Brook, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia.[3] Monse died at Fox River a year later of pneumonia,[4] and is buried at Wards Brook Baptist Cemetery.

OBIT – Monson Green
The death occurred at Fox River on the 7th inst of Monson Green, one of the best and most highly respected citizens of that village and countryside, death due to pneumonia. The deceased had been in good health during the past months, but was stricken with a heavy cold a few weeks ago, which developed into pneumonia and proved fatal, although everything possible was done. One year ago on the same day, his wife predeceased him. The late Mr. Green had a wide circle of friends who will miss him. His home was ever a hospitable one and both he and Mrs. Green will long be remembered as those who grasped every opportunity for doing good to their fellowman. The late Mr. Green is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Patterson of Great Village, three sons, Charles, Cleveland and Roland, also four sisters, Mrs. H.H. Mosher, Apple River; Mrs. Orr, St. John, Mrs. E Huntley, Economy and Mrs. Wilkinson of Boston, also a brother, Wallace of Apple River.
