Alcey and Jordan Smith married in 1864 and he died in March of 1865 and his estate settlement shows that she gave up her rights as heir to his estate to his children with one request that she retain the property she had when they married. I don't know if this was personal or real estate but it was granted to her as she had children by her first deceased husband Eli to continue raising since the children of Jordan would now be orphans of the state and were raised by their Grandfather Thomas J.G. Clark and his wife.
