This payroll acknowledges that Brigadier General D. Leadbetter, Major of the Corps of Engineers paid Duff Cyrus Green, Quartermaster General of Alabama, for work performed by certain slaves on the "City Entrenchments" of Mobile, Alabama, during January to March 1863. This payroll consists of five numbered sheets, with slaves numbered from 3001 to 3250.
