Biography

Caroline was born in Farnham Royal, Buckinghamshire in 1869. She is the daughter of Frederick Greenaway and Jane Basden. Caroline was christened in Farnham Royal on 12 December 1869.

In 1896, Caroline married James Jacob Stanford in Eton Buckinghamshire. They would become the parents of one daughter, Cicely, born in 1904.

While we cannot be certain of the circumstances, we wonder if Caroline died of the complications of childbirth, or very shortly thereafter, as her death coincided with the birth of Cicely in September 1904. Caroline was 34 years old when she died. She is interred at St Mary Churchyard in Slough Berkshire.
