Although James was born in Alloa, his family was originally from Falkirk and they would eventually move back there. James lived in Campfield St which was near the town centre and several foundries, including the famous Carron Iron Works, so it is hardly surprising James's father and older brothers were iron moulders.[2] James would eventually became an iron moulder himself and he remained living with his parents in his childhood home. He never married.[3][4]
James Greenaway died, aged 76 years, on 13 November 1948.[5]
