Percy was born on 23 May 1916 in Byron, Wisconsin. (Draft Card, 1930 census)

Name

His Hocąk name was Rohacōžumąnįga, "He Walks Leading Many", from roha, "many"; cōžú, "to lead, to be in the company of someone, to accompany"; mąnį, "to walk"; and -ga, a definite article suffix used in personal names.

Appearance

He was 5' 8" tall, 177 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, and a dark complexion. (Draft Card)
