Biography

William Greene was born in 1763. William Greene ... He passed away in 1852.

William married twice: first, in 1796, to Mary "Polly" Low, daughter of Lieutenant Colonel John Low and Sarah Wickes Low; and second, in 1800, to Rosanna Low Wells, daughter of Stephen Low and Susannah Hadaway Low. Polly Low Greene died 2 November 1799 in Warwick.

Marriage Announcement. "LOW Polly, daughter of John, and Captain William Greene, at Warwick." Published 5 January 1797. They married 27 October 1796.

Rosanna and William Greene had children Mary Low, Susannah Hadaway, Almira, Charles Wells, and Catherine Celia Greene.

He was a farmer and master in the merchant marine. (Clarke)
