Pearl M Ray was born 26 Nov 1891[1] the daughter of Elizabeth F Ray[2] and an unknown father.
Pearl married Earl Calvin Greene about 1914. [see Research Notes] She along with her husband worked at one of the various mills common in the Coventry area, she as a "winder" or "Tube Winder" from 1920 through the 1940's.[3][4] In the 1950 US Census her occupation was "Winding Machine Operator" in the textile industry.[5]
There is no record of issue from the marriage of Pearl and Earl Greene. Pearl passed away in October of 1983[6] and is buried in the Woodland Cemetery; Coventry, Kent, Rhode Island. [7]
Research Notes:
Lacking other records Earl and Pearl's marriage date is derived from the 1930 U.S. Federal Census. They were both cited as being 38 in that census year, enumerated on 14 Apr 1930,[8] [though they were both actually 37; he until July and she until November]. The record then cites the age that they were married was 23. 1930 -38 =1892; 1892 +23 =1915. Actually the marriage took place sometime between 1914 and 1915, based on their actual birth dates. Note also that the Rhode Island, U.S., State Censuses, 1865-1935 for 1915 shows them married.[9]
