Biography

William Greene, born 5 Mar 1652/53 at Warwick, Rhode Island, was the third child of Anne Almy & John Greene.

He married Dec 17 1674, Mary Sayles, daughter of John and Mary (Williams) Sayles), grandaughter of the illustrious pioneer Roger Williams. ^[1]

William and Mary had one child, Mary, born Jul 8 1677, who married Edward Dyre. ^[1]

William Greene died in 1678-9, age 26, at Newport, Rhode Island because he was sick with malari and too ill to make it to his home at Warwick. ^[1] He was buried at Easton Lot, Middletown, Newport County, Rhode Island, USA, ^[2] beside his wife's parents. His will was admitted to probate in Warwick, March 12 1678-9. ^[1]
