Biography

George Greene is a part of US Black heritage.

George was born about 1894 in Culpeper, Virginia. He was the son of George Green and Belle Carter. He was first married to Ella Parker prior to 1920 and had at least 8 children with her. I She died prior to 1965, when he married another widower, Minnie Abbott Smith. In 1930, his occupation was listed as farmer; in 1965 he stated he was a brick layer. According to his obituary, he was a deacon of White Oake Baptist Church in Culpeper. He passed away in 1976 in the Culpeper Memorial Hospital, survived by 6 daughters, 2 sons, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
