Wives:

Uncertain Parentage of Child Minnie Greenfield

It appears that Margaret Jane (Greenfield) Dent (abt.1845-) had a child, Minnie Greenfield, who is likely the same person as Daisy Belle (Greenfield) Walker (abt.1877-1961) and Daisy Belle (Greenfield) Walker (abt.1877-1961). Both Daisy profiles are under a Merge request.

4 year old Minnie "Mina" Greenfield (b. 1876) first appears in the 1880 census as daughter to Jane and James Dent even though her surname is recorded as Greenfield. This suggests she is possibly Jane's child, but not James Dent's child. Possibly an illegitimate child of Jane's, conceived during her marriage to Dent. (ages are different on the censuses, so Mina and Minna could be nicknames).

Minnie also appears in her grandparents (Richard Greenfield (abt.1822-abt.1891) and Matilda (Gilbert) Greenfield (abt.1825-abt.1906)) household in the 1880 census. Her surname is Greenfield and relationship is given as granddaughter. She appears to be grouped with the children of Jane's brother, John, but her birthdate is after the death of John's first wife Amanda. And before his marriage to Louisa Curry.

She is not in the 1900 census with Jane and James Dent, but there is a girl of the same age by the name of Daisy in John and Louisa's household. She is listed as stepdaughter. Could this be Minnie, not accepted by James Dent, now going by the name of Daisy in John Greenfields home?
