Biography

Flag of Yorkshire (adopted 2008)
William Greenhough was born in Yorkshire, England.

William Greenhough was born in 1762. He was the son of Benjamin Greenhough and his wife Elizabeth, presumably Elizabeth Steel. He was baptised 28 Feb 1762 in Brodsworth, Yorkshire. [1]

In 1784 William (Greenhoff) married Elizabeth Trout in Arksey[2] [3] by whom he had six children, Jane, Hannah, Benjamin. Mary, Elizabeth, and William.

Elizabeth died in 1800. William remarried Elizabeth Bean, a widow (nee Scholey) on 3 May 1803 at Arksey, Yorkshire. Witnesses are Robert Trout, Sarah Dobson and Ann Bean.[4][5] They had four children John, Sarah, Ann and George.

He died in 1813, age 55 and was buried 25 Feb 1813 in Almholme, a small village about 2km North of Arksey. [6]
