An obituary in Windsor and Richmond Gazette dated 25th September, 1963 reads:
One of the best-known and highly regarded elder residents of Wilberforce, Mrs. Mattie Isobel Daley, died in Governor Phillip Hospital at Penrith on September 12, at the age of 83 years. She had resided for most of her life at Wilberforce, and was the widow of the late Frederick Daley.
Surviving her are four daughters and two sons - Eileen (Mrs. Hawkins), Dulcie (Mrs. Arnold), Mavis, Jean (Mrs Wheeler). Frederick and Jack, to all of whom, and to other relatives, their many friends extend sincere sympathy in their bereavement.
The Rev. A.R. Hildebrand was assisted by the Rev. Davison (a family friend) in conducting the funeral service in St. John's Church of England, Wilberforce, on September 14, following which burial took place in the church cemetery.
