He served in the Boer War, service Number: N391611. Witnesses to his marriage to Lily, by Rev. Norman Jenkyn, were Joseph J. Allen and Emily A. Allen. His Death Notice states he died in hospital and was late of Wilberforce. Husband of late Lilly, father of Claude, Thelma (dec), Iris (Mrs. Stewart) and Allan (dec). He was cremated at Pine Grove, Eastern Creek.
